Thank you to those who responded to our 2007 PhIMA membership survey. Your feedback was critical in shaping our direction, content and areas of focus for 2008 and beyond.

As you will see, we have already taken action on some of your feedback and have other initiatives currently underway that will satisfy other areas as well. Stay tuned for future updates on this.

We will be incorporating another survey in the coming months to make sure we’re on target with your expectations and suggestions.

Below is a summary of results including sample comments from questions requiring feedback.

1. Who do you represent? Please indicate which type of organization you belong to.

a. agency - ~49%
b. publisher/vendor - ~26%
c. partner/client - ~15%
d. technology provider - ~9%
e. other (consultants, recruiting, etc) - ~1%

2. Are you an active member? Please place a check next to any PhIMA events have you attended in the past year?

The October Educational Event on Mobile Marketing slightly edged out our Holiday Event as the one with the greatest attendance of our respondents.

3. What do you want to see/hear? The following are potential topics for future PhIMA events. Please indicate your interest level in these topics for 2008:

The top three “VERY INTERESTED” categories among respondents were:

1. Cross Media Strategies
2. Behavioral Targeting
3. Measurement & Analytics

We are already in the process of building out educational panel events to support this feedback.

4. What topics are we missing? Please list other topics YOU would like to see covered in future PhIMA events.

Some sample comments of what we heard from you:

  • Client relations
  • Podcasting
  • Viral marketing
  • Member to member information
  • Niche targeting (GLBT, Multicultural)

    5. Event Locations.

Would you be interested in attending PhIMA events in:

Top three vote getters by our respondents: 1. Center City 2. Olde City 3. Conshohocken

    6. Membership Dues. How much would you be willing to pay for an annual PhIMA membership?

The majority of our respondents felt like $15-$25 would be a fair charge to be an active PhIMA member.

    7. How can we improve? Please list any recommendations YOU have to improve PhIMA.

    Some of our respondents suggested:

  • Form a Linked-In Partnership
  • Working lunches
  • More consistent events in 2008. In 2007, they were either too far apart or too close together. also the emails that go out could be more robust.
  • Newsletter and possibly online video of previous sessions.
  • Pick a normal meeting day and time, example 1st Wednesday every other month.
  • More educational sessions
  • Photos, results from events (bloggy stuff, y'know?)
  • The website is not very useful. Meetings are not posted far enough in advance. There is no list of member companies. Email signup isn't easy, etc.
